Are train tickets sent home nominative?

In general, tickets issued by SNCF are not nominative. (The "billet imprimé®" and some of the other special rates are an exception to this).

The tickets bear the name of the person who has placed the order for practical reasons when the tickets are sent to home. However, they can be used freely and ticket inspectors do not check the identity of train ticket holders. The traveller must simply comply with the conditions pertaining to the rate of the ticket.
