All about order confirmation

1Has my train ticket reservation been recorded?

Print this question / answer

After your payment on-line on www.tgv-europe.com, you will be given your 6-character dossier reference number on the confirmation page for your order.

For every order placed using the www.tgv-europe.com site, you will receive a reservation confirmation message whether or not an on-line payment was made.

This electronic message provides you with the details of your order as well as your 6-character dossier reference number.

2I did not receive the order confirmation email

Print this question / answer

1) The order confirmation message is sent to the e-mail address that you entered when you placed your order.

2) Check if your e-mail can accept the HTML format:

You will receive a confirmation e-mail in colour, with images and active hypertext links. It will provide you with direct access to our services and information with just a single click. In some very rare cases, the e-mail can be interpreted incorrectly by some e-mail systems.

3) Check the status of your email system by deactivating the Proxy:

With Internet explorer: click on "Tools", "Internet Options", "Connections", "Network Parameters" then check if the "use a Proxy server for your local network" option is not ticked.

If this is the case, please contact your Internet service provider or your IT salesman.

If this option is activated, we suggest that you deactivate it and then delete, once again, your temporary files.

3My order confirmation e-mail does not mention any dossier reference number

Print this question / answer

When you receive a confirmation e-mail without an SNCF 6-character dossier reference number and without any itinerary details, there is no order recorded.
  • You had most certainly reached the payment pages but the banking transaction did not complete.
  • If the selected product requires on-line payment, the reservation is not recorded if the payment did not actually take place (Prem's rate, Prem’s Bons Plans du Net rate).
For rates where on-line payment is not mandatory, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail with your dossier reference number as well as a deadline date for payment/retrieval.

4I would like to change the receiving format of my order confirmation e-mail

Print this question / answer

After you have indicated your itinerary, you can select the desired format when you enter your contact information.

HTML format: You will receive a confirmation email in colour, with images and active hypertext links. It will provide you with direct access to our services and information with just a single click. In some very rare cases, the email can be interpreted incorrectly by some e-mail systems.

Text only format: You will receive an email that contains only text, with no colours or images. The links will not be active and, in most cases, you will not be able to access our services with just a single click. This lighter format can be interpreted by all email systems.

If your email server does not support the HTML format, we suggest that you select the text format.

5I would like to obtain an invoice for my train ticket reservation.

Print this question / answer

SNCF does not issue invoices and only the ticket itself is accepted as an accounting document.

Moreover, VAT on transport cannot be recovered, and that is why SNCF is not required to display this.
