iDTGV: the new generation train of the SNCF for different travel...

Almost 3 years ago, the SNCF invented a new way of travelling by launching iDTGV, a new concept that allows enjoying the journey time, at your pace and taste.
Two atmospheres iDzen and iDzap are available in the trains according to your wishes - services and animations on the programme or guaranteed silence!

iDTGV, also means attractive tariffs and a full internet offer! With an attractive tariff open to all and without special access conditions, iDTGV provides the opportunity to travel at low prices. All the "outbound" single journeys (to all the iDTGV destinations) start from 19€. This means the bookings are open at least 4 months in advance (and up to 6 months in summer) and offer the passengers true comfort to prepare their journeys a very long time in advance.

iDTGV consists of a train set with several coaches. Although the iDTGV train set is identical to a classic TGV, the atmospheres are different.

These, iDzen and iDzap, clearly identifiable by their specific signs, are original to iDTGV… a choice of atmosphere to travel at your choice!

The customer is invited to choose his atmosphere from the internet booking.

 

iDzen

Need some quiet: iDzen!

The iDzen atmosphere was completely created on the basis of relaxation, with the focus on calm and silence as main values of a peaceful and relaxing journey.
Feel like sleeping, reading, studying or resting? iDzen was created for the relaxation of the traveller.

Characteristics : in this space, mobile phones and animals are banned, and sleep kits (mask, inflatable pillow and anti-noise earmuffs) are for sale in the bar coach. To ensure the peacefulness of the passengers, children will prefer the iDzap space.

The iDTGV supervisor ensures the tranquillity and comfort of the customers, by moving them to another atmosphere on their request. He has an educational role and explains the concept by giving information about the atmospheres, services, animations.

 

iDzap

Need some fun ? iDzap!

The iDzap space proposes the customers to transform their journey into a moment of leisure. The journey time becomes a true life moment...that they don't see pass! Because relaxation is possible in games, meetings or discovery, iDzap combines all these possibilities.

In the iDzap space the passengers can enjoy the many iDTGV services. No need to move, the iDTGV « barista » (ambulant waiter) meets the passengers directly at their seat to offer them entertainment (DVD, video games, magazines, books, children kits,…) and catering-snacks

iDTGV also offers its passengers Portable PlayStations (PSP) for hire. A fully innovating offer as it is the first time that the hire of PSP will be possible aboard a high speed train.

The PSP will be available for hire all along the journey and on all the iDTGV routes, at the bar and in ambulant sale in the iDzap atmosphere.

There are several formulas:

• Console SONY PSP + 1 headphones + 1 PSP game of your choice = 9.90 €
• 1 PSP game - individual or additional = 3 €, amongst which:
  • - Ridge Racer (exceptional driving sensations)
  • - Wipeout Pure (face your pilot dreams)
  • - Medievil (action, adventure and humour)
  • - Daxter (weapons and amusing gadgets))

iDTGV will launch a second train on the Paris <-> Nice route in autumn and a second Paris <-> Toulouse train in 2009.

 

New for 2008

With the aim of innovating and enhancing the onboard entertainment on offer to the passengers, iDTGV has launched iDbox, an interactive and cultural WiFi box, available free of charge on all the iDTGV routes.

The iDbox is an interactive box, which automatically updates on departure from Paris thanks to the network 3G/3G+ of SFR, located in the bar which offers entertainment content to the passengers for free. Thanks to the iDbox, every passenger can consult and download free multimedia content with his/her personal equipment*.

These contents are adapted to the used terminal, can be downloaded in the bar and the two adjacent coaches (WiFi range limit at time of launching) and are available in video, audio, image sequence, still image and text format. But above all, an iDbox is adapted to its route, with targeted content for the destination: audio Guides on the region, events programme, suggested excursions, ideas for walks etc.

NEW FOR 2008 : The iDbox already allows the iDTGV passengers to download video games, film and video games trailers, a musical magazine and Radio France podcasts. To enhance its content offer, iDTGV has joined forces with RKST.org (new semi interactive web radio service based on new technologies which allows you to create and personalise your RADIO) to enable its passengers to travel in music and have fun in creating their own programmes via the iDbox.

*WiFi computer, WiFi personal assistant/ WiFi games console, WiFi/ Bluetooth mobile phone, WiFi personal stereo/ MP3 player with USB cable/ USB key. Currently iPod is not compatible with the iDbox.

 

The iDTGV Bar

A break on your journey to enjoy the conviviality of a true bar
Located in the centre of a train set, the iDTGV bar combines catering and entertainment in one space. The bar enables the passengers, Zen or Zap, to enhance their travel experience with a whole range of services - at the rhythm of the musical atmosphere. From the sleep kit to the hire of video games, via magazines, the hire of DVD players and a delicious catering at small prices, the iDTGV Bar does not forget anyone.

Flavours for all ... at small prices !
The menu is designed to meet the quality/price expectations of the customers. From beer on tap to the Baltic deli platter, via the Wrap (exotic trendy sandwich): the menu, rich and balanced, was created for all tastes. The menu changes about every 4 months, based on suggestions by the passengers. There are new items all year and accessible prices for anyone!

 

Tariffs and exchange terms

Do you want to be able to change the day or time of your Departure ? The destination ? The passenger name ?

It is possible with your iDTGV ticket, as it is :

• Exchangeable before the validation of the passengers' identity: the iDTGV ticket is exchangeable as long as you have not saved the name, first name and date of birth of the passenger. The exchange incurs a fee of EUR 10 per changed ticket and the possible price difference with the initial tariff.
• Only exchangeable with another iDTGV ticket: The iDTGV ticket is exchangeable on all the iDTGV trains with available seats. The ticket is not exchangeable with a classic TGV ticket. To keep the opportunity to exchange your ticket after it is booked and paid, do not create it and do not print it immediately!

The exchange of an iDTGV ticket can be realised daily from 8am to 10 pm at the call centre for the exchange of iDTGV tickets (number indicated in your order confirmation mail) and the day before your departure at the latest, service only available in French.

The iDTGV call price is 19€ and it is subject to the same exchange terms.

 

Buy online and print your ticket

Simple and easy…

As soon as you bought your ticket online, all you need to do is print the ticket out, at home, in the office or in an iDTGV kiosk in a station in Paris (Gare de Lyon, Gare de l’Est and Gare Montparnasse), Marseille Saint-Charles, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Mulhouse and Strasbourg.

An iDTGV hostess will welcome you two hours before the train's departure.
